In this devotional I talk about the fact that before there is a resurrection, there has to be a death. This is a principle within the Kingdom of God. When they marched around Jericho, it was not them who brought the walls down, but a complete dependence upon God wrought by God in them during the wilderness before they entered Canaan, or Jericho.

Being in love is just one of the best feelings ever! Nobody else exists, an infatuation overtakes all your senses, and you become a helpless romantic. All you can think about is the one you love, leaving little love notes or poems and lavishing all your time and attention on the object of your love. There is just nothing quite like being madly in love. We are the object of His love. However, for some, "The thrill is gone". Our tendency is to see things through our own particular filters, especially when we know them to be doctrinally true. And, of course, truth is always to be upheld. However, He the seeing that He wants to bring us into is not seeing the truth about Him, but The Truth - I AM. It is in the secret place where we not only see Him as He truly is but also as we are. Here we learn not only about the Truth but learn to know Him who is the Truth. God has tolerated the hidden sins of His children for so long, but will not bring judgment on the world before He sends it upon His church first. For judgment begins with the house of God first.
Paul asked the Corinthians why they were walking as mere men, as if to say that he was disappointed in the fact that they did not understand who they really were. This is still true of many. God is Spirit, and to understand who we are, made in His image, takes God to reveal this to us. We may be able to say all the right things, but in the end, authenticity is not in what you say but how you live.
This devotional addresses the "pet sins" we allow even though being priests of the Lord. I address the fact that though seen individually they may seem "petty", but what they collectively show is a heart condition, which He does not take lightly. He desires truth in the inward part and that we serve Him wholeheartedly. |
